Welcome to Mountain Top Quilting Studio

APRIL 2009

Winter Spring So true the proverb ... no matter how long the Winter Spring is sure to follow. HAPPY SPRING!!!!

How does the time fly by so quickly? There is lots happening at Mountaintop Quilting Studio and there are things you'll not want to miss out on. Most of the time you can keep up with everything pretty well by following my blog, but there neeeds to be an informal formal newsletter every once in a while with some special goodies for those of you who took the time to subscribe. So here is a sampling of what's new, what's been going on and be sure to pick your special freebie at the end.

  • New collections  and a few individual patterns have been added to the catalog. For a more complete list with links visit the home page. In the meantime, here's a teaser ...

1371 Daisy Days   1365 Jungle Fever   1358 Card Trick

  • Other computerized quilting news ... I'm gradually converting the patterns so they will work with the Intelliquilter computerized quilting system, so tell all your IQ friends to come back often to check the catalog for the latest IQP files that have been added.
  • Have you played much with concatenation yet? You'll want to check out the blog posting on a project I did using concatencation with the new Jungle Fever Collection. Some great hints and tips for the process in the article. I talked a little bit about concatenating in the last newsletter with the release of 1303 Golf Collection. Concatenation is a wonderful tool we have as Statler quilters allowing us to individualize our customers' quilt tops and to maximize our pattern libraries. Keep your eyes open watching for more collections designed with concatenation in mind to be added to the Mountaintop Quilting Studio Catalog.
  • Don't You Think It's Strange has some good ideas for dealing with tucks and what causes them to appear on the backing as we're quilting.
  • Are you struggling with the organization of your pattern library? How about browsing through in search of a few possibilites that might work for a quilt? Are you able to find what you're looking for quickly and efficiently? For a possible solution to having all of your patterns fall into place in neat little virtual piles that will sort themselves with a few clicks of your fingers on the keyboard, go HERE.
  • And while you're reading your way through the blog postings be sure to watch for free pattern offers, a few good recipes to try, and some eye candy to spark your creative spirit.

Are you still with me? Are you still reading? As you browsing thorugh the website, be sure and leave a comment or two if you find something of interest or something that helps make your quilting job a little easier. And as a reward for subscribing to the Mountaintop Quilting Newsletter ... here's a freebie just for you!
