All I can say is, "WOW!" Wasn't that a fun time shopping a great sale and getting some of those designs you've always wanted? I don't know about all of you but I learned a lot and am looking forward to even more exciting times.
SUBSCRIPTIONS: I took the liberty of subscribing you to the new Mountaintop Newsletter if you were already subscribed on the old site. I also added your name to the subscribers list if you are on the Mountaintop Newsletter through my Yahoo group. If you wish to continue to get newsletters from Mountaintop you need to do nothing and you'll continue to get notices of sales, promotions and new designs and up-coming classes.
DOWNLOADS: The main thing all of us learned is the download process through this host is just a little different than other sites. I'll be posting the instructions on the website as well, but in a nutshell:
After you place an order:
- You'll receive a "thank you" email from shop@mountaintopquilting.com
- This email will serve as a receipt for you as well as contain the links for the files you've purchased.
- Scroll to the bottom of the email to the links - they're hilited in blue and LEFT CLICK on the link.
- You will be taken to a Mountaintop Web page (I call it the vault VBG) that contains a picture of the purchased file and another link that says, "CLICK HERE."
- This is where you do the "right click/save as" process to transfer your file to your computer.
Always remember to drop me an email if you have any problems with your download and I'll try to get to the bottom of the problem. It took me most of the day today, but one of the problems I found with one order was tied to a simple typo when she entered her email address. So, check and double check your information one last time before you check out. One way or another, I will make sure you get your patterns.
I know some of you tried to place orders during the sale time and they didn't go all the way through. I have a printout of those "wish list orders" and, willl honor the discounted price if you still want to purchase those designs.
LOOKING AHEAD: What's coming up soon?

SEPTEMBER DRAWING WINNERS: The September drawing is for 3 fat quarters or an E2E design for your quilting machine. All you had to do to "get your name in the hat" was to post a comment to any blog article during the month of September or make a purchase from the on-line store. And now it's October 1st and time to announce the winners!
I had to choose from 30 different entries. I placed all the names in my little sugar bowl from my fall dishes and said to myself, "I can't give the goodies to just one person. How about I draw names for three winners.!"
And, so I did. The winners for this month's drawing are:
TOM TROXEL JOYCE LUNDRIGAN MARLA KELSEY
Tom, Joyce, and Marla need to drop me an email and let me know their prize preference ... 3 fat quarters or an E2E quilt pattern to add to their library.
It's time to start collecting names to put in the hat for the October Drawing. I will be at Market in Houston at the end of this month, and I think I need to look for some surprise prizes on the vendor floor. What fun to have a surprise grab bag of all kinds of quilty goodies for one lucky winner.
Remember, all you have to do to get your name in the hat is to post a comment to a blog article or make a purchase from the on-line store between October 1st and October 31st.
NEWS FROM THE STUDIO: This month has just flown by with quilts coming in the door, being quilted, and flying right back out the door and getting a new website up and running, but the best part of the month was during the last week. I got to take two 2-day classes from a couple of fantastic teachers.
First I was finally able to take a class from Janet Fogg. Her Innovative Traditionals class is a wonderful springboard to creative thinking, making connections that may be obvious and then making connections to surprise the view that may be more obscure or unexpected. I'll be posting more about this in my blog.
Secondly, I asked Al Hutchins to come in from North Carolina and help us learn how to push the envelope with Creative Studio. Over a series of 3 classes with Al we were able to gain insight as to how the tools in the Creative Studio toolbar works and to use them in new an creative way we might not have thought of before. We learned how to recycle quilt groups helping us to work more efficiently, and how to look at the whole process of quilting a quilt top in a different way.
Lots of good problem solving, brainstorming, and creative thinking
across the board in both classes.
Innovations is coming up next week. I have lots of classes and hope to meet up with some of you either in the classroom, on the vendor floor, or at Jack's Statler Dinner.
Fall Market will be at the end of the month in Houston. You'll find me in booth 2217 with new patterns for shop owners to add to their collections and shelves.
Keep those machines humming as we head into our busy season of the year as longarm quilters and quilt top piecers getting Christmas gifts for family and friends finished in a timely manner.
